A Bit About Me
My name is Brandy Fortune, and art has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I’ve been painting since before I could even write. I’m a proud graduate of the Creative and Performing Arts High School of Philadelphia and Temple University’s Tyler School of Art.
In 2015, I launched Bossed Up, a clothing line rooted in a simple but powerful belief: that believing in yourself and your abilities is one of the most transformative things you can do. Since becoming a for-profit company in 2018, Bossed Up has grown into a creative collective that blends fashion, murals, and community art as tools for empowerment. As the CEO of Bossed Up, I’m dedicated to using creativity as a catalyst for confidence, connection, and positive change.
In the summer of 2025, I expanded this mission by founding Bossed Up Canvas for Change, a nonprofit organization focused on creating opportunities for artists and communities to connect through art, education, and empowerment. Together, Bossed Up and Bossed Up Canvas for Change represent two sides of the same vision; one that champions self-belief, expression, and the power of art to transform lives.
Today, I’m proud to serve as the art teacher at my alma mater, Gesu School, the same place where my love for art first took root. Now, I have the opportunity to pour that same creative energy back into my community, inspiring the next generation to dream boldly, create fearlessly, and believe in their own power.
